Beat The Barge

Another successful event at Beat The Barge on Saturday 5 August where even the weather smiled down on us despite the forecast

We had 132 finishers in the end who finished and congratulations to our 2017 champions Stephen Dunham and Jen Sangster

It looks like everyone Beat The Barge this year!!

There were some fantastic performances and great to see a lot of people significantly improved on their times from previous years – not least Stephen Dunham who took 4 minutes off last year when winning today!

We were all winners on a fantastic day today but especially well done to:

First Male – Stephen Dunham in 30:18 (Course record still 26:43)
First Female – Jen Sangster in 33:48 (Ladies record still 33:11)

RACE DETAILS

Approximate 5 mile, multi terrain course taking in off road, redways and the canal towpath.

  • Race limited to 150 entrants
  • Optional BTB merchandise available from the RR club shop this year!
  • Not for profit event – entry fee will cover the clubs outlay and any profit made would be donated to the clubs charity of the year
  • All finishers will receive an all new BESPOKE barge medal and a brilliant goodie bag! Medal Design to be unveiled soon…..
  • Prizes for first male and first female runners
  • The race is suitable for all with an aim for a fun and social event – the Start / Finish area is in a beautiful park setting so bring a picnic and enjoy the surroundings….and maybe a drink…..afterwards!

      • Off road running at Stonepit Field
      • Canal towpath running…….. and a few steps to a bridge!
      • A bit of woodland trail running
      • And of course a redway!

    THE EVENT IS FOR REDWAY RUNNERS MEMBERS ONLY – ENTRIES WILL REMAIN OPEN UNTIL FRIDAY 4TH AUGUST OR UNTIL THE LIMIT OF 150 IS REACHED

    Terms and Conditions:

    Successful entries will be notified by email within one week from receipt of entry form.

    Entries are allocated on a first come, first served basis and are limited to 150 runners.
    All entry fees are non-refundable
    Full event details will be sent via email at least 7 days before the date of the event.

    You participate in the event entirely at your own risk.
    You agree not to hold the organisers, its sponsors, its employees, its volunteers or those of the race venues or the local council and its associates liable for any mishap, injury or loss caused by reason of the event.
    By taking part, you confirm that your name and any video or photographs taken during the event can be used for publicity.
