    Enigma Marathon (1)
    Winter Enigma Marathon – these are run on a 7 lap course around Caldecotte Lake but events also have involved out & back routes along the canal to Leighton Buzzard & back

  • February

    Enigma Marathon (1)
    Enigma Quadzilla (4 marathons in 4 days) – these are run on a 7 lap course around Caldecotte Lake but events also have involved out & back routes along the canal to Leighton Buzzard & back

  • March

    Nike Milton Keynes Half Marathon
    This event now starts and finishes at the Xscape building in the centre of Milton Keynes, on the 1st or 2nd Sunday in March. As well as the Half Marathon a 10k and 5k race, and beginning in 2015 a new 20 mile race.

    Good Friday Enigma festival of running (2)
    Consists of 2 marathons, 1 x 30 mile ultra & a half marathon with a special award to anyone completing the 2 marathons & ultra in just 2 days.

    Les Irvine Memorial relay (OU Relay) (2)
    This team relay consists of 4 runners who must each run a 1.1 mile route from the Open University, at least one of the runners must be a lady. Check for details on the MMKAC web site.

  • May

    MK Marathon
    Started in 2012 this marathon for Milton Keynes with the start and finish at Stadium MK, home of the MK Dons, it is held on Bank Holiday Monday, it also includes a half marathon and a 4 person marathon relay.

    Round MK Relay (2)
    Team of four runners run different legs of this low key relay event starting and finishing in the Square in Stony Stratford, legs vary between 6 and 10 miles. Third or 4th Sunday in May.

    Race for Life
    Ladies only 5k and sometimes 10k events that are held all round the country. In 2011 the event moved in Milton Keynes to the MK Bowl and was only held on the Saturday. Can be in May.

  • July

    MK 10k (2)
    A 10k race held at the Open University in Milton Keynes and is usually the last race of the East Midlands Grand Prix series held on the first Tuesday evening in July, check the MMKAC website for details.

    Summer Enigma festival of running (1)

    Enigma Marathon (1)
    Enigma Gold Marathon – these are run on a 7 lap course around Caldecotte Lake but events also have involved out & back routes along the canal to Leighton Buzzard & back.

    Big Fun Run
    A 5k run held at Willen Lake.

  • September

    Tour of Milton Keynes (2)
    Held over 6 consectutive days with 6 races in the first week in September, starting on the Monday through to the Saturday, the runs vary from a mile to 11k, see MMKAC web site.

    NSPCC Half Marathon
    Usually the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in July and starts at Bury Lawn School in Stantonbury, organised by the NSPCC.

    Movember
    During November many men grew moustaches to raise vital funds and awareness for men’s health, specifically prostate cancer and other cancers that affect men.

    Wolverton 5 (2)
    A 5 mile event although called the Wolverton 5 is held at Willen Lake (originally held at Wolverton) on a Saturday afternoon. check MMKAC website for details.

    Enigma Marathon (1)
    Poppy Day Marathon – these are run on a 7 lap course around Caldecotte Lake but events also have involved out & back routes along the canal to Leighton Buzzard & back.

  • December

    Santa Jog
    A fun run around Willen Lake on the first Sunday of the month raising money for British Heart Foundation, each runner dresses in a Santa outfit.

    Winter Half marathon
    New run organised by the Up and Running shop and Race Timing Systems usually held on the 2nd or 3rd Sunday in December.
