Moving up to 10K
David Lloyd Redway Runners are trialling a free 7 week course with the aim at the end you will run a 10K race and have a lot of fun along the way.
The idea is that the group work together for 7 weekly sessions starting at 19:00 on the 13 May, then as a group run the Milton Keynes 10K on Tuesday evening the 1 July 2014.
Who is it for?
This course is open to all paid members of David Lloyd Redway Runners, who have not attended the Improve your 5K times course.
Aimed at those who have already completed a parkrun or another 5k event and be prepared to put in the required effort to achieve YOUR goal!!
How will it work?
You will be doing various session work from hill sprints to tempo runs.
You will receive a weekly email structuring suggested home week to keep you on track.
You will be encouraged to progressively run 3-5 times per week.

Who leads the courses?
Our run leads are all experienced in running – this first course is being led by Marcus.
Where will it be held?
We will meet outside the barriers of David Lloyd Leisure Centre, Livingstone Drive, Milton Keynes, MK15 0DL.
How long will it last?
The course will last 7 weeks, and about an hour each week – maybe a little longer with the warm ups and cool downs.
It is free – but you will need to pay for the race entry for the MK 10K.
What do I need?
A pair of running trainers, some comfortable shorts and a drink. If the weather is bad you will need appropriate clothing to keep you warm/dry. Also a head torch is required on the dark evenings. An appetite to better yourself is always welcome.
At the end what can I hope for?
Simply – completing a 10K
Where should I park?
Non-members should not park in the David Lloyd car park. Limited parking is available along the road and there is a car park on the right-hand side near the end of Livingstone Drive. The group meets just outside the barriers to David Lloyd car park.
