Clothing Rules

The committee feels we have built up a powerful club identity and want to protect it going forward and maintain standards.

A good way to think of this is you would not expect a football team to come onto the pitch with an outfield player in a different colour. The club name and colours are important to our club. Companies and events (even the parkrun) do not allow their name/logo to be used without authorisation.

‘Redway Runners’ are registered with UK Athletics with club colours of green tees and black shorts. When picking this colour we had to ensure that the colour did not clash with other club colours locally or within the region otherwise our application could be rejected.

The name ‘Redway Runners’ is registered with UK Athletics, the Association of Running Clubs and Run Britain.

The rules on club clothing are included in the UKA handbook not least including rule 17. It should be noted that if you race in an un-official club kit then you can be disqualified from a race and your result removed.

Being pictured in an incorrect top the club could receive complaints and possibly club sanctions, not least we miss the opportunity for publicity for the club.

Therefore, the only tops that should be worn with ‘Redway Runners’ on them are those purchased through the club (which are in the club authorised green colour – with the correct green shade).

If you want to have ‘Redway Runners’ printed onto any kit, or you wish to have anything additional printed onto club kit, then you must first put in a request to the club secretary, Denise Browning mail at: denise.s.browning@btinternet.com in writing who will respond in writing.

We are very keen for runners to run in the club kit and hope you agree the prices are very reasonable, order form on the club web site under ‘shop’.

Any questions please send them to Martin or Denise.
