Under 18s

Did you know that Redway Runners have a vibrant under 18 section? Young Redway Runners, aged between 10 and 18 meet up regularly across Milton Keynes to train together in a safe, supported environment.

Adhering to the ethos popular in adults groups RRU18s focus on fitness and friendship with occasional competitions in a safe environment. RRU18s have a wide range of ability from runners doing their first junior or senior parkrun without walking to more established runners who compete regularly.

Coaching volunteers operate within England Athletics guidelines and the suggested ratio of 1 coach to 12 children. Several run leads have or are working towards leadership in running fitness qualifications and age appropriate sessions are overseen by a qualified coach.

All sessions are pre-planned, age appropriate and supervised by DBS checked, appropriate volunteers. Safety is paramount and over training is prevented during the sessions with different age groups encouraged to do more or less depending on age and ability.

Adult parent runners are welcome to run with the group. This is helpful to ensure safety and minimum child to adult ratios. Several other parents might run independently at the same venue.

Members over 16 are also able to join any Redway Runners adult runs.
