Our weekly run schedule details all the regular running activities that take place each day. We have different runs to suit all levels and all paces – there’s something for everyone!
You can find details of what happens on runs in the club, guidelines for runners and welfare information, click here
To meet the run lead team click here
Our Step Up runs are at an easier pace and a shorter distance so for runners new to running can be a good place to start, plus also rambles, then after that we have club or Social runs, as well as Paced runs where the runners go at a set speed, plus intervals where runners work as a group on speed or endurance, this might involve running hills or short bursts of quicker running.
For the very speedier runners we have many runs to test you, including, Tempo Tuesday, Early morning Brickhills on Wednesday, Wednesday track night, Friday morning club 10 mile run as well as intervals Tuesdays morning and evening, Wednesday morning and Thursday evenings, not only that we have social runs, that with loop-back system we use the runs are about time on feet so you get to run for the time of the run at the pace you want.
Many of our run’s use ‘loop-backs’ to keep everyone together and encourage a mixture of paces running together. Find out more about loop-backs.
Any early morning or evening runs that take place in the dark a head torch and bright clothing is required for your own safety and the safety of others.
In addition to the run schedule, we also organise, free beginner courses, Need for Speed, Under 18s, and Move on Up to… courses.
You can see the start locations for runs which begin from the same location every week on the map. Some runs start at different locations each week, for details of these locations click here

Distance of run (miles)
This will use a mixture of circuits and loop backs, so around 4 to 6 miles depending on your pace.
Duration:
Mainly around the hour mark.
Pace (in minute miles)
Between 9:30 to 11 minute miles. We will be using circuits and loop backs to allow different paces.
Describe run
Interval training for all different abilities.
We try to be friendly and welcoming whether you are nervously trying intervals for the first time, or running around like a whippet and whizzing past us every couple of laps.
Everyone is welcome and everyone can benefit from adding some intervals into their routine. (It will help with our fitness, speed, strength and stamina wherever we are in our running journey, and sometimes just help us if we feel we have got into a bit of a rut).
We normally run in circuits that are about 500 meters and we run for set times, for example, 5 minutes faster, with 2 minutes recovery four times.
So, it doesn’t matter how fast you are going compared to other people, we all run around the same circuit until the time is up.
Each week is slightly different with the timings of the circuits, i.e. 5 minutes faster with 2 minutes recovery one week, 6 minutes faster with 90 seconds recovery another week.
We always make the sessions fit in with the schedule for people on the “Moving on up to marathon” or “Moving on up to half marathon” training plans so we can support those groups, but you definitely do not have to be ready, willing or able to run a half marathon to come along to the interval sessions.

Describe run
This is a tempo run for faster runners or runners aiming to run faster. You should be able to keep to a 7:30 pace or under over at least four miles or aspire to that whilst not being there quite yet. The run has no loop-backs or a tail runner but we always follow the same route and new runners will be supported if needed. A tempo run means running comfortably uncomfortable, at 8 out of 10 effort, normally 45 seconds slower than your 5K race pace in minute miles (30 seconds in minute km), or at your half-marathon race pace. This is a large, supportive group where you can also achieve 5k and 10k PBs or use the run as part of a longer or different type of run to suit your training needs.

Distance of run (miles)
Approximately 3 miles (5K)
Duration:
Roughly 45 minutes for the 3 miles
Pace (in minute miles)
From 12 mins (this takes into account the walk transition)
Describe run
This is a “jeffing/interval training” session where the WALK TRANSITIONS will be no longer than 15 seconds and the RUN SECTIONS will be set to specific ratio, for example: 40 seconds run 15 seconds walk, 50 seconds run 15 seconds walk.
The routes will be on redways or pathways and will be mainly flat. Runners are encouraged to run at their own pace with the Redway Runners ethos of nobody gets left behind. It is an inclusive and supportive group and aims to “put the fun in to running” whilst gradually improving personal fitness. But this run may not be suitable for beginners.
Run Start
This run started 31 March 2021
Extra information
From 21 February 2024 this group will also be offering an option to extend to 10K session. The Jeffing 5k by returning to the starting point to drop off those doing 5k, then continue running for those who want to increase to 10k. You must be engaged and comfortable with the concept of Jeffing and can already run 5k comfortably.
Ideally, you will be able to attend all of the sessions. The increase to 10k will build on the 5k by approximately an extra half mile per week. Loop backs will always be used during our runs.
The Jeffing session is suitable for those who have graduated from Beginners and the 10k for those who need a longer distance. The 5k will be approximately 37 to 45 minutes depending on paces of individuals. Then they carry on for the progression to 10k for those who want to continue. It’ll be a 6 week build up to 10k some may cover more depending on loop backs.
