Saturday 3 August saw the 9th sailing of the Redway Runners exclusive sold out Beat the Barge event at Great Linford Manor Park which has been awarded Green Heritage Site Accreditation in the Green Flag Awards.
Results show 186 finishers with Joel McBrearty the overall winner 31 minutes and 6 seconds, then Andrew Emerson and Paul Barnes
First lady was Sarah Buck in 36 minutes and 32 seconds, then Julia Dive and Melanie Childs
Well done all that took part on a warm and sunny afternoon, this year it was a Sapphire colour top (light blue) for all who took part.
Debbie the event lead said ‘I would like to thank everyone who took part and volunteered to make it the most successful to date. Thanks also to the stall holders, the cake bakers and those who donated raffle prizes for the charity of the year Action4youth. Roll on next year for event number 10. This is what the clubs all about, running, supporting each other and having fun.’
Events like these take a lot of work in planning and making them happen, plus all the work on the day to make everything run smoothly so a massive thank you to Debbie D and all the team who organised and helped on the day in such a successful event for the club..

The profit from the event of £798 goes to the club Charity of the Year – Action4Youth.
The Barge will be setting sail for the 10th year Anniversary in 2025.
