On Wednesday evening, 15 November 2023, Martin, Karen, Michelle and Annette headed down to the South East Regional England Athletics volunteer awards in Windsor.

Redway Runners were nominated in two categories  for ‘Club of the Year’ and Martin was nominated in ‘Club Leader of the Year’

The club had a great night and won ‘Club of the Year’ and Martin was runner up in ‘Club Leader of the Year’.

This is a prestigious award for us to win as recognises all the hard work that is put in by so many people all for free to make the club as successful as we have been.

Regional winners in eight categories are then put forward for consideration in the National Volunteer Awards and these will be announced in December. The categories are: Contribution to Running, Club Leader of the Year, Club of the Year, Coach of the Year, Community Project of the Year, Inspiring Official of the Year, Newcomer to Volunteering and Services to Athletics and Running.

We will also share the club video that was shown on the evening soon, sadly when this was shown on the night, the sound failed, so no audio only subtitles!
