24 riders joined the Redway Runners Green National event run on Friday 30 July 2021, from the White Hart pub in Sherington
The Riders headed out along the Ouse Valley with the first stop at the Horse starting pens, then moved along for a group photo and talk about the fences for horse jumping.
We then moved onto Fences farm to meet the horses, we saw the trophy room and horse walker and met Stuart Edmunds the horse trainer.
There we visited the graves of Renée Louise Marie de Rothschild and her husband Peter Robeson OBE. Thanks to Lisa and David for playing the parts, Peter Robeson won team bronze at the Stockholm Olympic Games on Scorchin and won Individual Bronze at the 1964 Tokyo Olympic Games.
Finally, we moved to the horse training track (cushioned) track for our own version of the Green National – not sure who won, must need a steward enquiry!!
Finally, we made our way back to the White Hart for much needed refreshments
Thanks to Kevin Orchard for giving us an insight into horse racing world, to Fences Farm and Stuart Edmunds for allowing us to visit and to the White Hart for opening early to host us
