Ros and David walk the Challenge

Well done to Redway Runners members Ros and David who walked the Camino trail.
Ros said ‘So it took us 40 days of walking to cover 547.9 miles or 876.6 km from St Jean Pied de Port in France to Finisterre (“the end of the world”) on the Spanish coast. There were many challenges and joys on this epic trek including the extremes of the weather, climbing the Route Napoléon over the Pyrenees, the eagles, the vultures, Spanish food, the meseta plains and wonderful new friendships made.’
This was to celebrate Ros’ retirement after 40 years of teaching and to tick a challenge off the list to start retirement with a positive experience. Ros said they enjoyed all the wonderful comments and support from Redway Runners pals on Strava and Facebook and even when we were overheated, soaked or exhausted after yet another day of hill walking, they managed to laugh and smile for the whole trip. They both say Thank you!
