Redway Runners very own Steve Scott has recently been honored with a prestigious award at the Regional volunteer awards that took place on Wednesday evening, 25 September 2024.
Steve’s contributions to the club are immense, ranging from his active role on the club committee to his meticulous management of all the club’s five events. His dedication particularly shines through the hard work he puts into our MK24 event.
Steve not only contributes his time and effort to event management but also serves as the club equipment manager. He takes great care in maintaining the club’s kit, which includes various items we have purchased and acquired over time.
Upon receiving the England Athletics ‘Contribution to Athletics and Running’ award at the ceremony held in Dorking, Steve expressed his astonishment and gratitude. He extended his heartfelt thanks to Anne, who nominated him, and all those who spoke highly of him during the video presentation.
Steve shared this recognition with our wonderful club, emphasizing that the award is a testament to the club’s overall efforts and achievements.
England Athletics highlighted Steve’s work by showing a short video at the Awards evening, and you can watch it here: https://youtu.be/EDesblmnH-E.
Thanks to Anne for nominating and Simon B for producing the video and again congratulations to Steve on this well-deserved recognition.
