ABOUT

Andrew

Andrew leads with the club Under 18’s group

Anne

My running journey began in April 2015, when I joined a daytime Beginners group. I had always hated PE at school and was terrified but I really enjoyed the first session. After my ten weeks, I graduated  in the June at MK Parkrun and never looked back!

I began volunteering on other Beginners groups and then became a Run Lead. I passed my Leadership in Running Fitness & First Aid exams and now lead a Step Up group on a Thursday morning. I also cover other Step Up groups where required. Behind the scenes,  I am on the Awards Committee whereby I nominate other Redway Runners  for awards.  I also publish the RR running schedule that appears on Redway Runners Facebook page everyday. I am on the committee for organising our annual  ‘Beat the Barge’ event which takes place in August. For me, I try and make it to Parkrun and I love the Sunday Step Up runs & Redway Runners!

WHAT YOU SAID

Kathy Kavanagh

I don’t know Andrew but cool shorts 😆! Anne is one of the best. Thursday mornings would not be the same without her. Her step up runs are full of joy, fun and inclusive. She really does embrace the Redway Runners philosophy of “no-one gets left behind”

Magzilla Chichuck

Anne always picks the right route to match the weather and is always out to lead irrespective of the weather. RR run leads are an awesome group of people

Marine Turner

Chris Jeanes

Anne is one of the legends of the club, so chatty and friendly. Must admit I thought Andrew was one of those black and orange runners. It’s great for the club if we have convinced him to coach our youngsters he’s a great guy and again always has a word of encouragement for me when he sees me running or racing!

Deirdre Rose

Anne devotes so much of her time to RR and does it all with a smile. She’s a fantastic lead, beautiful lady and great friend 💚

Anne is a great run lead. She is always very encouraging, very friendly and supportive.

Jane Lee

More than one Redway Runner Junior has openly admitted to a heart sink moment when they realise Andrew is taking the session 😆 However, they keep coming back for more and have all smashed their parkrun/5K PBs in the last year or so, so it can’t all be bad 😉

Sarah Evans

Andrew’s sessions are always a favourite for the RRU18s and he looks so much better in green than orange 🤣! Anne does so much for the club and such a fantastic run lead. Out in all weathers (still one of the wettest runs I’ve ever done)! Thanks to both Anne and Andrew for all they do 👏

Chris Lindesay

Despite looking like an u18 in the photo Andrew Wasdell is in fact nearly 70. Great when an athlete gives back after a lifetime in the sport. 😉he certainly looks younger in green.

Luke Chambers

I know Andrew through the RR U18’s, very friendly and encouraging to the Juniors! Does a great job.
Anne is one of the nicest people in the club. Not a lot of people know what Anne has done for me in the past but she is one of the kindest most generous people I know who will help anyone if she can. I owe a lot to Anne and I can’t thank her enough for her help over the years I’ve been with the club 💚
